Additional Info
Habitat: dry rocky mountain ridges, old fields, floodplains
Wildlife Value: Provides winter cover. This plant supports Imperial Moth and Eastern Pine Elfin. Squirrels, other small mammals, and birds eat the seeds.
Notes: Highly flammable. Plant well away from the house. Pines are good companion plants for rhododendrons and azaleas (plant them at least 6-8 feet away). Leave the needles in place for an attractive natural mulch.
